“已经”表示一件事在说话以前就完成了，或者时间、年龄等已经到了一个点。“已经”放在动词或者时间词前面，句子最后常常有“了”。

已经 means "already": the action is finished, or a time, age or amount has been reached, earlier than you might expect. It goes before the verb (or before a time word or number), and the sentence usually ends with 了. Typical frames: 已经 + verb + 了 (电影已经开始了), 已经 + time/amount + 了 (现在已经十点了), and 已经 + verb + duration + 了 to say how long something has been going on (我已经工作两个月了).

  • 电影已经开始了！

  • 我已经吃饭了，不想吃了。
    Wǒ yǐjīng chī fàn le, bù xiǎng chī le.
    I've already eaten; I don't want any more.
  • 现在已经十一点了，我们回家吧。
    Xiànzài yǐjīng shíyī diǎn le, wǒmen huí jiā ba.
    It's already eleven o'clock. Let's go home.
  • 王明已经工作两个月了。
    Wáng Míng yǐjīng gōngzuò liǎng ge yuè le.
    Wang Ming has been working for two months already.
