解释Explanation

"多＋形容词"用来问程度，意思是"有多……"：多高、多大、多长时间。回答的时候说具体的数。

Put 多 (duō) before an adjective to ask "how + adjective?": 多高 "how tall", 多大 "how old / how big". The answer gives an amount: 一米七, 二十多岁. Later you'll also use 多长时间 "how long (a time)" in the same way.

  • 你多高？——一米七。
    Nǐ duō gāo? —— Yì mǐ qī.
    How tall are you? — One meter seventy.
  • 你女儿多大了？——十几岁了。
    Nǐ nǚ'ér duō dà le? —— Shíjǐ suì le.
    How old is your daughter? — She's in her teens.
  • 那个杯子多大？
    Nàge bēizi duō dà?
    How big is that cup?
