解释Explanation

"虽然A，但是B"表示先承认A是真的，可是B还是这样，B是说话人想强调的意思。"虽然"可以放在主语前面，也可以放在主语后面。英语只用一个词（although 或者 but），汉语两个词常常一起用。

虽然 A，但是 B means "although A, B (anyway)": you admit A is true, then say B still holds. B is the point you really want to make. Unlike English, which uses either "although" or "but", Chinese normally uses both words together. 虽然 can come before or after the subject of the first clause: 虽然我学了一年 / 我虽然学了一年. 但是 always starts the second clause.

虽然外面很冷，但是教室里很热。
Suīrán wàimiàn hěn lěng, dànshì jiàoshì li hěn rè.
Although it's cold outside, it's warm in the classroom.
这件衣服虽然有点儿贵，但是很漂亮。
Zhè jiàn yīfu suīrán yǒudiǎnr guì, dànshì hěn piàoliang.
This piece of clothing is a bit expensive, but it's really pretty.
虽然王明是中国人，但是他不喜欢喝茶。
Suīrán Wáng Míng shì Zhōngguórén, dànshì tā bù xǐhuan hē chá.
