解释Explanation
"几"放在"十"后面（十几），表示十一到十九之间的一个数；放在"十"前面（几十），表示二十到九十左右。"多"放在整十的数后面、量词前面（二十多个、三十多岁），表示比这个数多一点儿。
When you don't know (or don't need) the exact number, use 几 or 多. 十几 means "between eleven and nineteen" (a dozen or so), and 几十 means "several tens". 多 after a round number means "a little more than": 二十多岁 "twenty-something years old". Both come before the measure word: 十几个人, 三十多块钱. Here 几 is not a question.
