“几”一般用来问比较小的数字（常常是十以下），后面要有量词。“多少”可以问任何数字，后面的量词可以不用。问价钱用“多少钱”。
Both 几 and 多少 ask "how many". Use 几 when you expect a small number (usually under ten); it must be followed by a measure word (几个, 几口). Use 多少 for any number, especially large or unknown ones; the measure word after it is optional. To ask a price, always say 多少钱.
